Working together for nature

Scotland's coasts and islands are amongst the most         biodiverse areas in the UK.  Providing a last refuge for some of our most beautiful, unusual and most vulnerable species.

Sleat Nature Group work with other organisations and other voluntary groups on Skye to try to raise awareness and         encourage the local community to become more involved.

Tormore Community Woodlands

What was once a commercial forest is now a community owned woodland.  All the work carried out here is done by   volunteers.  Slowly a network of paths and cycle ways are    being maintained and created.

The volunteers meet on the second Sunday of each month for tree planting and maintenance. All are very welcome no         experience needed.

White Tailed Eagles

In our community woodland we have a pair of white tailed eagles who took up residence some years ago and successfully rear chicks.
